Soil and Groundwater Pollution Surveys in areas located within Air Force Base BHA 27
Ecolog conducted a soil and gas survey as well as supplementary surveys, including an investigation of groundwater pollution in the areas of former Air Force Base BHA 27. The surveys included dozens of soil drilling and active soil gas surveys for determining the extent of pollution, conducting a risk assessment in accordance with the IRBCA methodology, and evaluating alternatives for soil remediation. These activities were conducted on approximately 125 acres of Air Force Base BHA 27 areas, for the purpose of assessing the extent of soil contamination, prior to transferring the area to Israel IAI (Israel Aircraft Industry). The main pollutants that were found included fuels and organic substances associated with industrial sources.
