General Design for Supplying Water for Agriculture Use to Moshav Paran
Moshav Paran, an agricultural settlement located in the center of the Arava, is undergoing a process of developing new agricultural areas in the moshav, at the time that significant changes in the regional water supply system are taking place.
As part of the development of future agricultural areas, Ecolog designed a new water supply system for the agricultural areas of Moshav Paran.
The design included evaluation of alternatives for upgrading the transmission infrastructure for existing lots that would also be suitable to supply to future lots.
The work included analyzing the existing network in accordance with existing operation for locating bottlenecks and network pressure problems, in addition to the evaluation of alternatives for the development of new water infrastructures that would be suitable for supplying water to existing and future areas.
The hydraulic analysis of the existing system and alternatives to the design was conducted using Bentley`s Water CAD network solver software for maximum and minimum network pressures.
The recommendations for the development of the water system were provided following the comparison of alternatives, based on economic and operational aspects, with an emphasis on reliability and maintenance factors.
